AlwaysOn

AI Chatbot for School Websites · 2020–2025 (acquired)

We designed and built the AI-based chatbot that powered the core product for an education technology startup serving K-12 school websites. From the company’s founding through its acquisition in 2025, we provided ongoing technical leadership as the product evolved from early concept into a production system used by schools at scale.

Our work focused on building a maintainable, extensible core application and guiding technical decisions as requirements, usage, and constraints changed over time. Following the acquisition, we continue to provide limited support to assist with continuity and transition.

Our role

  • Technical leadership for the core product
  • System architecture and backend development
  • Integrations and operational reliability
  • Ongoing guidance through growth and acquisition

GORIDE

Multi-Tenant Boat Rental Management Platform · 2019–present

GORIDE is a vertical SaaS platform for managing boat rental operations across multiple independent companies. The system includes customer-facing booking and account management, payments via Stripe, SMS notifications, and operational workflows for scheduling and customer communication.

Since early in the product’s lifecycle, we’ve designed and maintained the system architecture end to end. Over several years, we’ve provided technical leadership as the product, customer base, and operational needs have evolved.

Our role

  • End-to-end system architecture
  • Customer-facing booking and account platform
  • Payments (Stripe) and messaging (Twilio SMS)
  • Ongoing technical leadership and product evolution

Inheriting existing systems

Not every engagement starts from a clean slate. In some cases, teams bring us in to help stabilize or extend an existing product after issues with a previous approach.

TeacherPlanBook

Educational technology SaaS

TeacherPlanBook is a Laravel-based SaaS product used by school districts and teachers for lesson planning and compliance. We took over development after challenges with a previous team, stepping into an existing codebase and production environment.

Our work focused on stabilizing the system, improving maintainability, and supporting continued feature delivery for district-level customers.
